Shiny... but that's about it.
Again it all looks slick, but nothing that major. I liked Deep Freeze (the last demo i think is called) though.

as for points:
3DMark score: 2249
SM2.0 Score: 986
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 900
CPU Score: 715

Score after a (nearly) full overclock...

Composite: 1475
SM 2.0: 592
SM 3.0: 516
CPU: 942

I'll probably do one more CPU overclock, as I think I can get my CPU up high enough to get that score to get into four digits... (CPU is only at 2.5 ATM).

ya, I still dual boot...

SM2.0 - 486
SM3.0 - 485
CPU - 848
----------
1297 score

for reference: Athlon64, 2.2Ghz (3500+), 1GB Ram (2-3-2-6, DDR3200), BFG Geforce6800 Ultra OC, 2x 74G raptor RAID 0.

I'm curoious... why do they include openAL? I didn't hear any sound effects.

I know I could up my cpu by 10% without trouble, and my graphics card a little probably.. I just don't feel like it. Smile

edit: um... wth? I was just wondering how FraceR has such a high score, and I see many others with video scores much higher than mine with the same card...

Check if you're forcing any AA.

No, I left AA off and at application controlled, no difference.

Windows sucks. I know it's a shocker, but you'll get over it.

So I reinstalled the drivers and rebooted and it works quite a bit better.

1012 SM2.0
996 SM3.0
832 CPU
---------
2434 score

CPU score would have been higher like before but I didn't bother to turn off Folding at Home and GIMPS this time.

I must say, while 3dmark06 was quite choppy at times, it wasn't a slide show either, though the previous runs were, so at least I see what kind of performance the rest of you have Smile

There is audio to 3DMark06... there's also a demo roll as well as a game set in the Red Valley benchmark...

does the audio not work with on board audio or something? Cause I don't hear anything at all out of the demo.

I have on-board audio (which normally is pretty terrible, has some issues with DX, I really need to get an Audigy), and the sound works just fine... better than DirectSound, to say the least.

The lowering of resolution to 10x7 will probably raise scores about 5-15%, so adjust accordingly.

I was a little bored so I decided to overclock my video card's memory and see the results. The memory chip is rated at 400MHz, but is only clocked at 338MHz by the card vendor. Clocked it up to 360MHz or so (tried 398MHz, had artifacting.. weird seeing as cooling is very much adequate).. had to turn off Overdrive though. The score barely changed. In fact, it got worse.. heh.

Odd... my card stock is 300/450, and ran it the first time at 400/500, the second at 415/520... and the memory is rated for 500. Can't complain, I guess... but yeah, I've had problems in the past getting memory on ATI cards to overclock up to even the rated speed...

ok, I overclocked slightly.

Defaults:
GPU: 425
GPU Memory: 1100

CPU: 2200
FSB: 200

score: 2434

over clocked:
GPU: 438
GPU Memory: 1153
CPU: 2310
FSB: 210

score:
1049 SM2
1032 SM3
893 CPU
--------
score: 2538

a little bit higher, not that high of an over clock I know, but at those low rates it does make things a little smoother Smile
