So, today... I was doing taekwondo, and my mom was late for picking me up to go home... So... I decided to challenge myself...
I wanted to see how high of a roundhouse kick I could do... I attempted one that was nearly half a foot higher than my height (about 5'10")...
All was going well until I actually did the flick of the leg on the kick (which put my foot at that half-foot-higher than-my-height height)... I was actually doing it in a bit of an easier way to throw the roundhouse though. Traditionally, you would have your calf beside your thigh, while turning, and then throw the kick. This way is slow, and hard to do high with any inflexibility (in the groin area).
So... The way I did it... The way I did the kick... you come up with your leg, calf under your thigh, and when you throw the kick, pivot your hips and your leg ends up being the same as the traditional roundhouse kick (This version is faster, but less powerful. It's primarily used in sparring).
So... I am extremely flexible with my legs going forward (I actually winded myself once by swinging my leg up straight, but that's another story), but not nearly as flexible in the groin.
Think what happened when I turned my hips on that kick...
This thing seriously felt like my hip popped. The real pain was right at the joint, but I could actually feel it in my calf too. I'm thinking that I pulled my hamstrings pretty badly, and I'm going to be out of taekwondo for a while
Let's see how long I can avoid insanity!! w00t! _________________

Yeowch. That's gotta hurt. Hope you have a quick recovery, though. _________________ Official forum economist. Explodes when thrown.

Yeah... I've been icing the thing since I got home. Luckily, I can walk fine and such, but it hurts when I put any strain on the muscle (such as bending over or leaning forward while sitting) _________________

So you've stretched your groin muscle.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
A week of rest and it'll be alright. _________________

No... I sprained my hamstring. I have to keep my leg bent back while sitting to have any sort of comfort in a sitting position. That isnt caused by groin problems.
All pain that happens is just below the glute
Edit... Actually, I'm lucky that I can sit without pain. A guy I know from taekwondo apparently did the same thing, but a bit worse, and he couldnt sit for a few days _________________

That'll teach ya not to do any physical activity. Seriously, I sit on my rear all day and I never have muscle pulls. =) _________________ "Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas." Joseph Stalin
