I'm using the original cd and I'm getting an error message about a file being missing. The file has the word gargoyle in the name. I have been having problems starting the actual game up, saying something about there being no cd in the drive and so far I haven't managed to find a nocd patch. I can't even do the upgrade patches cuz it stops everytime it comes to the missing file. Does anyone have any advice? I also tried using an image of the cd. |

ok, I've tried to install the demo to at least try and play it tonight and I'm getting the same error message but with a different file, here it is:
CRC Error: The file C:\Program Files\Diversions Entertainment\One Must Fall-Battlegrounds-Demo\Data\ForceModel1.DEObjects doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted |

I suggest completely uninstalling the game, and removing any files that remain in the game's directory, then doing a reinstall and then allowing it to patch on the first run. _________________

I tried it again with my cd and once again it comes to a complete stop when it gets to this one file. I'm redownloading the demo to see if that works...I hope so, I was a really big fan of omf2097 but that game doesn't play too well in dos emulators. |

Did you completly remove the folder where BG was in? A normal uninstall with the wizzard sometimes won't do.
Also, if you have another partion, try to use that one instead.. see if that works.
If that doesn't work perhaps someone here on the forum could get ya the missing file somewhere on a server. _________________ "I don't like pancake restaurants, you can only order 1 pancake at a time" - My girlfriend

You should also run a mem test and see if your ram is corrupt. |

I've tried everything to get it working, how do you do a mem test? I'll be thoughraly annoyed if my ram is corrupt cuz it's only a few months old. |

I clicked ignore and managed to get it working. So far I haven't come across any problems in the game (other than the glow thing) but I can't update the game cuz of the missing file. |

Basically once you make a floppy or CD from that download, pop it into the drive and restart your PC. The program should run. Then wait for it to complete at least 1 pass. If it shows any errors (in red), then you have bad RAM. If not, you don't. _________________
