Hey forums.

The other day I visited google sketchup's warehouse and realized it can operate like deviantart, only with real 3d. Right up my alley and I already have a google account. However, over the years all my old work has been lost. Epicrevival's backup died in a fire. Well, actually it died in a stack of CDs thanks to a grain of sand.

Anyway, I'd like to post everything of mine that I can find to google sketchup for the sake of novelty. If anyone has any of my old 3d stuff or knows a spot to find it, please chime in. Thanks.

Hurray, I found my way back to the forums!

*in other news:

I have a bunch of .max/.3ds files from back when there was a pseudo attempt to get the original models into OMF:BG, although people seemed to bail out on the project as soon as it got going. However, I can probably bring them in to work and see if any of them will still open up. I think they were made in max 5 or 6... aka, a while ago.

It'd be interesting to see if they could be brought into the Overgrowth Engine and get animated up, considering it seems practically idiot proof (looks in mirror).

I'm aware the whole "resurrection" idea has been passed around a billion times but perhaps a few would be interested in at least toying with the idea, or at least getting the models into the game engine. I can report back in a few days if the model files are still able to be opened - hurray for working at a VFX house!

That idea came up in another thread, and while I like the idea of rebuilding 2097 with fancy things like windows support, eye candy, and networking, I won't touch another project without first seeing a structural management involved. I'm not saying DE has to get involved, just knowing who's project leader, who's doing what, and most importantly what has to get done between releases.

IMO project creep and lack of goals killed every OMF2097 resurrection project out there.

I know several of the guys that hang out in the irc channel has worked on various remakes as one man shows. Currently no idea of the status. It seems my current day/night cyclus is so bad, that not even the australians and europeans can keep up...
