Mantis is overpowered SIMPLY because his melee attacks are too fast, you cant stop him unless you hit him before he gets in range (or with a VERY fast counter). Also if you do block he can simply left kick and unless you have INSANE reaction speeds and are in pyros there is little you can do about it. - Answer, Slow mantis down a little, add a longer cooldown to his Slides (when blocked) and his RP (which actually appears to be a low kick of some kind).

Mantis' Supers, Yeh they are ok, but have i missed something, those flies dont have the distance to home to your back so simply block it??? I always either sidestep or block super fly (unless im not paying attention - which is a lot of the time lol).
Slide, As has been said people just fall out for no logical reason, including the increadably stupid AI. You have to be SPOT ON to hit with it, its MUCH slower moving than BD so its easy enough to block/evade So it hits more and u can combo out of it. First you have to hit with it, difficult if they arnt directly infront of you and you are mid comob (which is exactly the same if not slightly easier when using BD). Second they have to not fall out of it, which leaves mantis waving his arms and legs about miles above the arena doing nothing and simply waiting for punishment when he lands. Third, the easiest way to avoid it is JUMP, its a LOW attack the regular slides are slightly more difficult to jump because they have FA warm up time. The slide charges with the blue sparks so its like ATTENTION JUMP NOW!!, ESPECIALLY useful in pyros where you can punish the foolish mantis with an a.FLP/a.RP/a.LK/a.FRK

Also, Mantis does need to be weakened in melee and have his spiders INCREASED in potencey speed or power. he is MEANT to be a tactical har NOT a melee har - read the Mantis Masters cinematic
his side attacks btw erm they arnt that great, because of the delay usually all that happens is you STOP an opponent comboing you, they hit you then your delayed hit hits them. good if they arn't paying attention to the fact you ARE a mantis (Gargoyle's side hits ALSO have delay but are harder to combo out of cos gargoyle is a very Frontal fighter with few Side hitting attacks.)

Super spiders are GREAT but only if used correctly, Spamming 3 super spiders into a couple of people fighting can be EXTREMELY effective, 1 opponent however can escape easily by running / evading to the side (some faster pilots can simply strafe) IF the mantis comes to get you simply stay with spiders they will hit mantis aswell stopping his combo.




P.S. where the [filtered] is Mantis' patented Nano-Transfer ??? (supposedly taking health from an opponent while giving it to him)

I think they removed that ability. Does it still say somewhere that he has it?

I don't have a problem with the speed of Mantis' attacks. I have a problem with their range. They all thrust so much that any block pushback is rendered obsolete, and they're the reason Mantis catches evades so insanely well.

They were meant to, that was removed due to balance issues.

You really need to fight a pro mantis sometime, find out how insane his side attacks really are, not only that, if someone falls out of super slide, you can still attack, basically meaning that due to his insane priority, i wouldnt try "punishing" him on his way down.
