no it doesnt. because it makes your opponet think on how oto beat it, and then once they figure out how to beat it you have to think AGAIN on WHEN you can use it instead of using it all the time. when somene starts using a strat that takes thought to counter, it causes a chain reaction of counters and mind reading that leads to MUCH more thinking than basic AI-like play

Are you implying that the only valid pyros stragety would be LK/fLK turtling? the more moves incoorporated, the more thinking it would take to find a break through it. (in most cases)

Because its dead annoying/boring to play and to play against, use it if you want, it doesnt have the potential of using all moves together anyway.

Is it annoying to play against because it's good? Seems to me that if a player is doing nothing but turtling and flk/lk it'd be pretty easy to predict and thrash them.

Bear in mind when answering this that you called it 'cheap' a few posts ago. If you intend to say that it's not a good strategy you'll have to redefine cheap for me.

Yeah, people like that are so easy to beat... lol, its pretty rediculous, because after you block LK, you can start a face spam deal on them.

Lol, player not everyone has face spam traps like you Razz

Vuen, id consider it cheap if too little effort gives too much result and brings too little risk.

I'm not saying that no one is allowed to use the style because of this, however i consider it a "cheap" way of getting results. (low effort and low risk, against the avarage person).

(notice how cheap really fits the description?)

the reason people dont like itis this.
Until you work out how to defeat it, it bugs the fuking [filtered] out of you, i mean seriously how annoying is it to be beaten by some1 using the same move over and over and over Examples - Jag leap, Pyros right flamethrower, chronos' back / front kick etc
once you know how to beat them then when its used on you it will only get hit by it about 3 times till you realise its all their doing.

so in effect it can be considered cheap as it requires little effort on the part of the person you are fighting
it however should be acceptable because all it takes is learning to defeat it once.

To be honest i would rather some1 kept using LK/FLK rather than a hugely long combo on me Razz at least in blocking and attempting to press the counter buttons i can feel im making an effort

the thing is that LK/fLK spamming leads exactly into those kind of combos Wink

Yes, I see quite well how it fits the description.

Since you didn't actually answer my question, which was "why is flk/lk turtling cheap", I'll have to decipher it from your posts myself. According to my calculations:

"Its rather hard to be cheap in a pyros, unless you go LK/fLK turtling (which i definitly dont do)"

+

"id consider it cheap if too little effort gives too much result and brings too little risk."

=

LK/FLK turtling takes too little effort and too little risk to give too much result.

If there's little effort/risk and great result, why wouldn't you use it? Isn't the whole point of learning a game to find the tactics that give the highest ratio of result/risk? And who appointed you to decide what moves have too high a ratio of result/risk? Did you just pick some arbitrary threshold which lk/flk turtling lies outside of?

If somethings simple yet effective the word for that is EFFICENT, not cheap. notice how efficent fits the definition better? playing a mutliplayer game is all about figuring out whats good (efficent), whats not, and how to counter the good stuff...

lol give tuffy a break, we are bein mean, he doesnt like fighting people who keep using the same tactic over and over as he finds it boring. Thats his choice *shrug* I prefer not to use the same moves over and over and i experiment with different moves in my combos, for example in my pyros i used to go for flk aflk afrk to start my combo but i have found rk rp lk far more potent if a little harder to use. therefore ive now got a more potent move to use in the situation Very Happy
however i may resort to the more boring safer tactics in dire situations lol

Not really, i think heck of a lot more fighting against people like player then i do fighting Oni-Sama's turtle style, and player beats my [filtered] big time while i beat Oni's turtle style bigtime, by these stats i OUGHT to hate fighting player, according to you. WRONG, i love fighting player, i hate fighting Oni's turtle style.

Also LK/fLK can get you a nice way, too bad not nearly as far as when using all moves at the times that theyre good.
