Dell may start selling AMD-based systems in 2H '06

To quote Neo from The Matrix: "Whoa...". Dell has been the most adamant of the Intel partisans, and that they may be making steps toward such a move is nothing less than unprecedented. Of course, we'll have to wait, but I'd like to see Dell start selling some Athlon FX-based XPS rigs. Smile

Interesting hehe
The XPS series aren't the laptops? An FX-something on a laptop must be killing the battery :/

Not quite, the XPS is Dell's line of gaming PCs. So that includes both laptops and desktops. I'm very sure they're not going to put an FX processor into a laptop.. It'd probably have a battery life of an hour or so :p

Although I think Dell did once put a P4EE into a laptop, which would be even worse for battery life... that might've just been a concept product, though.

My lappie's battery life is 1.2 hours. That's on a 4 ohur battery. I'm basically running a tractor.
