Game is coming out July 2nd i think. They just announced the distribution methods:

http://www.capcom-unity.com/sven/blog/2009/05/08/the_street_fighter_iv_pc__the_options

So those are your options. Me personally? I'm probably gonna grab it on Steam for $40. It's SecuROM free, and well worth the money. Digital distribution owns. I already have the tournament edition fight stick, among other arcade sticks, so I don't exactly need the retail bundle with the Fight Pad (although im not against the idea)

But then as stated above, the retail package, which will be going for $60, will include the official Fight Pad... which is a GREAT value. Seeing as how the controller itself sells for $40, and is a HOT item that is HARD to find right now. Getting the game AND the controller is a no-brainer if you don't already have a good fighting game controller or arcade stick that you can easily hook up to your PC.

Hell, I'm really tempted to get the bundle just for the value alone. Sell the retail copy, keep the pad, and just get the game on Steam or Impulse. The problem with the retail copy, to me, is that it has been announced to have SecuROM. If you don't mind SecuROM, then just order the bundle outright, because the value is spectacular.

The fight pad is a GREAT controller for these types of games... I'm not a pad man, but having 6 face buttons (no annoying shoulder buttons) and a good d-pad is vital to playing fighting games on a controller. It's also very suitable for many other games on PC, as well as emulators.

P.S. IF you want the bundle, you should probably just preorder. It's a limited quantity item. The fight pads will probably go away eventually anyway.

I'd just go with the version on Steam if I didn't already own the Special Edition for PS3. I play better with a keyboard than a gamepad anyway.

yeah, surprisingly, keyboard is actually pretty well suited for fighting games. I'd use it over the standard SNES-inspired shoulder button gamepad for 6 button fighters any day.

At least, so long as you have a keyboard that doesn't have a problem with reading too many simultaneous inputs. Most keyboards do have a problem with that.

Speaking of Street Fighter IV... Steam has it on sale this weekend for $20. http://store.steampowered.com/app/21660/

I wish there were bigger arcades around my area. SF4 online has been a lot of fun but I'm at the point where I want to either take this to the next level or just stop playing altogether.

wish they made the online a ltitle bit better. It's *almost* good enough. not having lobbies for more than 2 peolpe really sucks, and the netcode is passable but not great. I kick anyone from my games that has less than 4 or 5 bars

They still don't have lobbies? Capcom never changes.

they sure don't, lazy bastards. Started playing some Tatsunoko VS Capcom online on the Wii now as well, and it's the same story...

At least they aren't still using the 20 year old Morrigan sprite?

That 20 year old morrigan sprite should be the new capcom logo

Yeah, lack of lobbies is pretty infuriating. Heck, SF2 HD had it, and that was a generic third party conversion.

Robyrt: Yeah, but Foundation 9 does do some halfway decent conversions from time to time... Rock Band Unplugged, for instance, is one of my favorites of theirs.

Xaronth: The sad thing is many of us remember that Morrigan sprite being new... I think it'd be great if they used it as a logo, mosaiced with either a high-res reinterpretation or a 3D model of it...
