Yes yes, there probably is a lot of problems with the idea, but I haven't really seen a discussion or brainstorm over the idea of a free download to repopulate the game.
So... discuss. |

2. Huge download...
It doesn't have to take much, I imagine that the copyright could simply be modified a bit and it's done.
Oh, and don't be completely realistic guys, toss in some romantic ideas as well. |

3. Licensing issues. And this is the killer. The publisher probably still owns the rights to the game and they're not going to want to release it for free. Neither is Rob going to want to pursuade them to do so, because they probably won't listen.

Considering, from the looks of things, Tri Synergy has only published three games for PC in the past three years, I don't think they'd be much of a hassle.
EDIT: Also, there appears to be no reference to the game on their website at all anymore. Take that as you will. _________________ Official forum economist. Explodes when thrown.

There won't be any benefit in releasing it as a free download (no Vista/7 support), only open-sourcing the game and the engine could do some good. But if anything is in development right now, there won't be any benefit in that either. _________________ ASUS Maximus Formula, E8400 @ 3.6GHz, 4GB DDR2 1066 CL5, 9800GT 512MB, Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1, Win7 x64 |
