Good things come to those who wait... now I'm gonna either give my brother back his GF3 Ti500 and buy a GF4 Ti4600 (which runs as fast with Quincunx AA as a Ti500 does sans AA) or wait for my brother to buy aforementioned card and keep his GF3 .

I have a better idea, wait for the GeForce 4 to come out and just buy a horrendously cheap GeForce 3

every 3 - 5 months we get a new videocard, or breaktrough in processor speeds, it's the length of a computer tech year x.O

I wouldn´t call it a breakthrough - the 386 was a breakthrough, the Pentium was one. But those newer CPUs are only faster - that is, they climb into the GHZ area - it does not mean they are actually faster.
(For they could need more cycles per command then the previous "slower" CPU)

Actually, nvidia schedules a new card every six months... so, 3-5 is a little aggareting, however, I must admit it's quite fast.

I'm a proud owner of a "normal" geforce 3 (which cost me about $450 (fl. 1099 for the dutch people here)) and I won't be considdering buying a GF4 as it's simply nothing new... It's a GF3 with an extra vertex shader and a higher clock... The GF3 was really something using new memory architechture, the vertex shader and Quincunx AA, but the GF4 is not much more on features... it's just a DX 8 card, not even 8.1 like the Radeon 8500. It's not that the cards aren't any good, but I think this is like the Pentium III Katmai (not coppermine) and the Pentium II... Same core, with a few extra tricks...

I still think that "Quincunx" sounds like a dirty word.

nVIDIA just rules! And I just thank God I never bought a GF3 or else I'd be regretting it. The GeForce 4 looks like its gonna last a person ages (before it can't run the latest games with good performance anymore). *starts collecting money to buy himself a GF4*
Now lets see what ATI comes up with

It even looks evil. Anything that looks like that must be either a.) powerful, b.) evil, or c.)just another miniscule upgrade that introduces no significant advatages that justify the price increase... whoops, I actually mean c.) pretty.
