I've read the guide on OMF.com to hosting a server however do I have open a port (2002) in my router to broadcast my external (WAN) IP?
I'm hosting a server that will be up probably 24/7 as I don't use my desktop that often. Only for talking on IRC and web browsing.
It should be a pretty stable server with:
10+ Mbps dedicated connection
AMD Sempron 2800 Processor
2 GB of DDR Ram
Decent video card (Although not for playing) I use my laptop to play.
