So I open up steam to play my orange box content stuff and it tells me my video card drivers are out of date. So I go to ati's site and update them and now when I try to run a steam game it tells me my d3d won't initialize. So I'm like screw it I go and roll back my drivers. Then my framerate dropped like a rock. So I'm like screw that I'll download the omega drivers. I get the newest one and my d3d won't initialize. So I'm like screw it I'll get an older version. I get an older version and my window memory cache runs low all the time giving me black textures over everything. So yeah I'm pissed at my 9800pro, I'm pissed at ati, and I'm only sorta pissed at the guys who make omega drivers.

Tried going to Guru3D and getting a slightly older version, like, say, 7.7?

Every time I hear someone detail the rigmarole they went through to get their PC in a condition to play new games I am glad that I bought a premade solution.
