I think I should know this, but apparently it's been too long.
Looking through the threads, I often see combos containing "a." .

What does this "a." stand for? My guess is "air", but from which point of view? Does the opponent have to be in the air, or am I supposed to jump?

I've also seen "f" - I assume this means simply "forward"?

So "fRP" would be "forward right punch"?

Correct.

As I recall, people would say something like... jRP to denote a jump followed by a right punch air attack... so whenever it's a__, it means you're already airborne. whenever it's j__, it means you have to jump first (if you're in the air, you drop to the ground and then jump)

Of course, now that you explained that to me, I finally can access Robyrts FAQ, where exactly this information is given as well...
(I couldn't before, at work the site was blocked Sad)
Still, thanks for the answer.

I know it's superflous if someone can access his site, but since the same legend seems to be used on the forum, or at least a very similar one, I'll post it anyway:
