I'll just keep propping this thing up as long as I can. I could try to convert it to some new forum software, but there is just so much spam out there and this one has sort of flown under the radar for the most part

PHP 7.4 will be around for a long time. However, I'm open to forum software suggestions. I know there are a lot more people on here that mostly lurk than are active posters. But even still, the userbase is really low for all the effort in setting up and locking down a new board software solution, IMHO.

Yeah, that was kind of why I was thinking about archiving it, since it's been so inactive last few years.

Guess we would need some kind of fresh gaming to get life going again, but it looks like both OpenOMF and OpenBG are still far from complete enough to be playable enough for the majority.

But hey, as long as it runs :)

I'd be all in for an imageboard like tinyboard or lainchan. phpBB has had its run & did its job well, but I think what this place needs is something simpler and more approachable. That in itself brings its own problems though as imageboards, especially chan boards have a bad reputation.

I also vaguely recall custom code being implemented that prevented any automated upgrade to this specific forum.
