We have returned to what was said in Vuen's thread, Most HARS are underpowered adn the others are fine not overpowered. For example, Pyros is quite wasy to work out how to get a few hit combo with as a noob, i had a 7 hit combo that could be ended in super fire spin it was mostly light moves. flk, a.flk, a.frk, a.rp, a.lp, right firespin/sfs. It was weak and easy to escape but it felt good to do, Mantis' is even easier to combo with as all his moves link near enuf. What i'm saying is, its more fun when you feel like you can kick some backside. ALL hars need to be given this ability, it could be quite easily reached (I'm not saying all hars but pyros and mantis are crap atm those are just the 2 i use the most.)
To be honest i very very much like vuens idea of increasing the use of ground evades, (i believe most air evades are fine already). With this increase (as has been said in vuen's thread) it would easily allow players to be more agile which is very important in a 3d fighter. (also perhaps more importantly it would allow players to feel more agile aswell making the game more fun.)
P.S. I know that if this change is made for a while most combos and stratagies would be useless as people can easily escape on the ground, and stratagies that used ground evades already would become extremely powerful, so what? just means we have to learn new ways round it.
Oh and also possibly simply turning up the jump of most hars would be quite good, this would give u another option if some1 is circling round u Jump backwards and start hitting. - High hit combos are btw BAD for a game like this, they are tricky, usually exploit a few bugs, give certain hars advantages, and most importantly make people new to the game feel pathetic cos they spend half their time just watching people fight. They also benifit people with low lag who can actually perform the combos, the game would be better if you could only reasonably expect to get a 4-5 hit combo (excluding supers) without the opponent being stunned.

I disagree about combos, 4 to 5 hits would really remove the tactically important point combos currently take in OMF. (even though some combos are just too sick atm.) _________________

The problem is, the bot is posting from a dynamic IP with an anonymous account. You could temporarily disable anonymous accounts, but that's all I can think of. |

There are no useless moves in OMF.
I thought Fireball is useless, but today I found way to hit foe ~100 times. _________________ Inventor of 20 robots. |

I said I'm guru? No, I'm not.
But I know that making robots is difficult, so authors
don't need to make useless moves- their hard work
would be useless. Yes, I agree, all moves are useless
in different situations, but they are important in other
situations.
For example, Chronos's Teleport.
It is useful if arena is big and you have 2 or more enemies.
But if Gargoyle fly through lava on Mt. Haishiro...
Or Force's Black Hole- it is dangerous in small arena.
Pyros's Fireball can destroy that Pyros if it was thrown
at the wall and touch robot- it became vortex as Black Hole,
but much more dangerous. _________________ Inventor of 20 robots. |
