Chronos has potential for many different combos. _________________

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Mantis has more depth in his comboing ability, because he can throw just about anything in, anywhere. Same goes for Force. Depth is variability, right? |

I thought throwing any move anywhere was the antithesis of depth. Thats just throwing any move anywhyere. Chronos has potential to do allsorts of very different and unique stuff squarely because he has to know his moves to use them in the desirable way, and each move has at least 2 uses. Some, I have counted to have up to 4 results upon being used in different situations in the combo. _________________

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to explain better than that. I'm saying that variability in combos makes depth, and you're saying "number of uses of moves," etc, which in my mind means variability as well. Thing is, Force and Mantis each have that, too - but more, and better. |

from what ive seen playing other people, i think force has the most combo depth
and depth basically = complexity, for lack of a better synonym (there istn one really) |

Simple. Variebility does add to depth, but you can have 20 entirely different moves and call it variebility, while I'm saying that the moves can even look similar, but what I think makes Chronos the most depth-full is taht each move can be used for different effect in different situations. Such as, depending on the height of your oponent when you hit him with a TAC, you can determine which telekick to use and how to continue. By using a.RK at the right altitude and with the right distance to the oponent, you send him to very different altitudes, and your landing penalty is very much dependant on this as well.
Mantis does indeed have a lot of this, but hardly on all moves. The light attacks I believe are always near identical in their result, though don't hold me responcible if this is not true. Force has less then Mantis even. All light air punches have the same effect in any part of the combo. Many heavies as well, and all specials always produce the same effect.
For example, to compare Chronos and Force. Force's meteor attack raises the oponent a certain altitude into the air on hit. Chronoses TAC does the same thing. However, where a meteor always raises the same altitude, no matter how high the oponent is, you would need to optimize your timing of the TAC throw to get the best result. You may blame it on being a projectile and chose to compare it to the bombs instead, but those two are near entirely incomparable. _________________
