Will you add a Training mode/Invencible 2 players mode in the next release?

Probably not, that will likely be a few releases and a year or two in the future.

Kat actually released a half version 0.6.5 yesterday, but he has not mentioned it here yet. I'll bug him about it. 1player mode is btw quite playable.

Ok, for my own sanity, I'm splitting this to a new thread!

I've uploaded a win32 binary package of 0.6.5 for those who are still on ancient machines.

I'm going to continue using this for development thread Razz

New video up at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l69m2mYBItQ.

New features since 0.6.5:
- Menu sounds
- HAR landing sound & dust
- HARs can now be thrown to the wall
- Initial REC playback support
- Other minor fixes and changes

We also have pretty much all of our omf2097 file format readers and writers done. There is still a lot of work to be done in finding out a pile of individual fields in the data, but we can now read most of the absolutely essential stuff. More details about that here: https://github.com/omf2097/libShadowDive.

We also have a preview (Windows 64bit) version of our graphical arena creator tool available at https://katajakasa.fi/projects/openomf/packages/wxbkeditor.zip. For the more mature CLI tools, our omf2097-tools collection gained a pile of new tools and features (Source available at https://github.com/omf2097/omf2097-tools/tree/master/src).

Loving some of the latest changes, the fix that made air physics reliable really made the game playable. The new AI is a blast to play against. :)

Be warned, they will block your jump kicks, you all have to learn new strategies!

But...but..... My jag combo of air kick followed by kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick trip?! Seeing how many kicks I could add is what made me max out my tournament character. Smile

Aww, I enjoy this new AI, if you come at it from original OMF it can seem quite tricky, since all the usual tricks doesn't work. A new player on the other hand would probably find it rather easy. :)

The AI still feels too passive and likes to block far too much... We need to make it attack more :/

The problem with attacking to much, as most old omfers are aware, is that it opens up for getting comboed. So to much attack creates openings, especially with the general AI's taste for using every move at random (Hello Thorn heavy kick!).

The old AI script "snipe" function was a good way around this, and it was widely considered the best thing you could do to an AI to make it usefull in original. Also some more fine control over which moves to use and not, and especially in what situations would also help the AI making less mistakes.

This is getting rather complicated though, and is bordering almost on making subscripts for each bot etc.

But working on recreating the old "snipe" function would be a good start, and make it much more prevalent in the new AI than in the original.

I found and fixed a bug that was making a whole lot of moves not work:

* Razor spin, both directions
* Wing charge
* Shredder headbutt
* Rolling thunder

The only *really* broken moves left are the shadow grab and the stasis activator (not counting scrap/destruction).
