Thank you Hunter for tracking this down!
Also, Ryan Elam is there as well. |
Well, Ryan's been working with SOE for a while, and I think he worked on the original Planetside as well... _________________ Official forum economist. Explodes when thrown.

I just seem to recall he worked on some MMO before that, Everquest 2 ? _________________ - Jon Eirik * www.omf2097.com * www.omf2097.com/wiki * https://discord.gg/sT8YU2E <- OMF Discord |

Yeah, and I think he was on the EQ1 team for a while before that. Like I said, he's been with SOE a while. _________________ Official forum economist. Explodes when thrown.

I thought I had posted this back in the spring sometime... I had got ahold of Ryan via LinkedIn and asked him to talk to Rob wrt either getting us the source code or patching things for OMF: BG so it can be played on something newer than XP but after that correspondence died.
Quote: | Hey Travis,
Great to hear from you! Rob is literally sitting a room away from me right now. Let me know more of what you need and I'll send it his way.

Greetings Ryan,
I believe you are the brother of Rob, who created OMF:BG. I was a lead tester and did tech support after release.
There is a small community who are hoping to try and preserve OMF:BG. We are hoping to speak to get code so we can get it working on Win 7.
Regards,

I didn't get further response from him :/ _________________ I'm not crazy, I'm sanity-challenged.

I remember it, but I don't think you ever told anyone where they actually worked. I was still sitting recalling something about Ryan working on Everquest 2 or something.
Oh well, good to see that Rob is doing something constructive, and to see Ryan whipping him about! :)
I was laughing quite a bit at the on-screen note, about how much code Rob could write ;) _________________ - Jon Eirik * www.omf2097.com * www.omf2097.com/wiki * https://discord.gg/sT8YU2E <- OMF Discord |

Planetside 2 is really fun. You need to like the Battlefield series though since it borrows a lot from them. Also playing alone is really boring. _________________ Xaronth's System Specs
