And now there's a response on the first day of the new year. So much life in these boards!
Wishing everyone a happy 2017 and that the US will at best remain as it is as opposed to what I fear will be Trump's great not being so great for most. _________________ I'm not crazy, I'm sanity-challenged.

So you say... but events are already in action. By the end of 2020 NASA will abandon their quest to go to Mars and [due to Senior Trump] will cease to exist. Private companies will continue their pursuits into space. The next big moment is in 2022, when China will invade the US from Mexico.

The forums need to stay open at LEAST until Dec. 2018. I have plans to share my (still existing) OMF: BG t-shirt, Iron Fist medallion, and signed (and unopened) copy for the 15 year anniversary of release.

It's a large. I could wear it easily, but at this point its a collector's item. For a very limited selection of collectors _________________ I'm not crazy, I'm sanity-challenged.

Surely you realize that such a bold statement is mere folly without a little something to back it up? Also mine's a medium.

I don't want to upload this to a random file sharing site, so here you go. Note the still sealed copy of OMF:BG in the top left corner - it's the one I received from DE back in the day. I had pre-ordered my copy from EB Games and decided to leave the original sealed.
https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipPxLWZ2BVFEUs3xk-Rwk1-SRI4ppoCOxgUlaViM
On top you can see the first page of the overview for what OMF:BG was to be. As well, slightly uncovered, is the intro sequence description, originally from OMF2.
Going through the design docs I also (re)discovered how the tournament mode was intended to be fleshed out from 2097 but never made it into BG. As suspected by many, there were plans to continue/expand the pilot leveling and HAR leveling systems. I'm all for going into a little more detail at this point as but a handful of people are probably interested...
I don't plan to release the design docs unless for some reason Rob appears granting permission, given the age of the game and the OMF franchise effectively a memory I think there's minimal value in revealing a few "secrets" from the sauce. Perhaps grant the wishes of a few people as to what might have been. _________________ I'm not crazy, I'm sanity-challenged.

Phone has this thread open in a browser to prove it's not some pic I took years ago. Papers are a bunch of math related to acoustics mostly for enclosure building. Money is a 1976 $2 bill and near pristine series 1934 $10 bill that I found in open circulation. The former is irrelevant the latter is quite the find (to me). Most of it is just novelty, but I didn't want to pull the whole thing apart for the poster. It's been up there a long time - the poster would probably start playing spacefold before slowly fading to dust and mocking me with Nova's laugh. |
